Sunday. Yesterday I did very little besides sleep, make an interesting expedition to the supermarket (or ‘grocery store’ as I guess I should call it – when in Rome etc…) and watch some TV.
Not the most thrilling use of a Saturday in NYC I agree. But like I said in my last post this isn’t just a sightseeing and porn holiday it’s also about relaxing and mending.
It’s been a very busy few months in my regular day job and that coupled with my recent break up has left me scraping through the days with just enough energy to feed the cat and then throw myself in to bed before getting up to do it all over again. Once I finally got myself on the plane and we had left the UK behind I felt all the tension knots in my shoulders relaxing and I knew I was in for a couple days of hibernation. Of course when I got here to New York the first day I had to go out and say hello to the city, and in the course of walking so many miles, ensured I was in for a nice long sleep.
I don’t mind though – there’s so much to see and do here that it’s impossible to do it all, so a day at home doesn’t feel wasted so long as I got some other benefit from it.
I’m writing this from Central Park now. The sun is out here and it’s a glorious day. Another lazy day I think, though this one spent out of the apartment soaking up some rays and some atmosphere.
